~ WABASH VALLEY ART GUILD ~

The Wabash Valley Art Guild was founded in 1980 by Florence & Norman Ratliff to bring together those in the community interested in the creation and appreciation of art, and to encourage fellowship through discussion and the sharing of knowledge. The Guild is a member of Arts Illiana and the Indiana Federation of Art Clubs.

The Guild welcomes artists who work in any medium in the Visual Arts. Presently these include acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink, graphic and/or watercolor pencil, pastel, collage, photography, egg carving, wood carving, sculpture, fiber arts, batik, metallurgy, jewelry and others.

WVAG hosts exhibits, sales and other activities in the community to display members' art and to promote cultural interests throughout the year. An annual exhibit is held each spring. This event is open to members and non-members and monetary awards are given for painting, three dimensional work and photography.

The WVAG highlights its members with the Artists of the Month featured in the Vigo County Public Library. In addition to the Spring Exhibit, the WVAG hosts Art in the Park at Deming Park in the fall and an annual exhibit at the Community Theater.
