A lifetime search for the perfect medium has finally ended in creating unusual artwork with fused glass. I have always been a crafter, but after retiring I have been able to devote more time to develop more artistic work. Ceramics, woodworking, weaving, painting, stained glass and many more have been art that I have learned and turned away. Fusing glass into artistic forms has been the most satisfactory medium: there seems to be an endless amount of learning and creating to peak interest.

Fused glass can be the easiest or the most complex of art forms. It involves taking a plain piece of glass and some smaller cut pieces then designing a pleasing visual form. After the design is satifactory it is transformed by placing in a kiln, applying intense heat, allowing it to soften, take a new shape, finally to morph into a new object entirely.

I have always lived in the Terre Haute area and have a family of three children-two daughters and a son. I am the proud Grandmother of eight grandchildren. I have a Master of Science degree from Indiana State University and taught Home Economics at the high school level before retiring.
